We're having kind of a rough week here at Chez WTF and I need some cheering up.
Please leave me a comment with something that makes you happy, no matter how sappy, silly, mundane or profound. Even if you've never left me a comment before, show me that you're out there lurking in the ether and my ramblings are not just the literary equivalent of wanking into the void.
Go hug your kids and tell them that you love them. Go do something nice for a stranger: pay a toll, open a door. Go be kind, because today the world feels like a wild and wayward place and we're all needing some love.

Hmmm. . . a great big burrito always makes me happy.
This week the baby girl discovered dolls. Maybe I should be encouraging trucks, but it makes me happy when I see her hug her "babies."
Some trashy celebrity gossip might cheer you up.
Hope things go better tomorrow.
Does it count that I read "Go do something nice for a stranger" as "Go do something nice for a stripper"? Because that? Totally made me happy.
Strippers need niceties too :) Sounds like everyone has been in a funk lately. I have no idea whats going on, its not even close to a full moon.
What recently made me smile... We went out to eat as a family the other day and my 2 year old held up the menu and seriously was studying it. Then he pointed to a picture and told me" Dat one mumma. dat one." Then when the food came and he received exactly what he ordered, he got the biggest smile and was all proud of himself. It was so cute, to me at least. My little man...
I'm happy that I have a cold and I called my husband to say I was to sick to "be the mob" and he said he'd come home a little early to be the mob for me. What a guy. I'm sorry you're having a hard time.
I'm eating Oreos on your behalf right now. Bless you.
I'm happy that my husband cooked dinner tonight. And that it's cool enough now that we can walk to the park in the middle of the day without risking heat stroke.
DYM sent us all over here to say something that makes us happy .
Getting off work in 5 minutes is really going to make me happy. :)
I didn't know how to ask for help until I got broken. Then I asked for help. And I got it. Help, that is. My parents just sold their house and are moving to California for two years. I just found out today. Yay!
Also? Project Runway makes me happy. And this makes me even happier:

Take care, doll.
Life is like mission impossible. If you are still alive at the end of the day, that means you win. It doesn't matter if you blew up the helicopter, demolished the skyscraper, or blasted the bridge to bits; if you are still alive, you win.
Daring Young Mom makes me happy. And I wear her pink t-shirt proudly even though I am sure everyone else thinks I am a big fat liar when I am wearing it.
Chocolate & Coffee make me happy. My daughter's smile and her smelly feet always make me cheer up. I love to watch funny movies like Anchorman and Wayne's World. Hugs. Hugs make me happy. Virtual hug coming your way....
(Daring Young Mom sent me)
Hang in there...
Mary, mom to many
I have a book "14000 Things To Be Happy About" by Barbara Ann Kipfer. I always page thru it when I need a good smile and have given them as gifts many times to friends who needed a little lift. So if I could I would send one to you. But for now my son always makes me happy and having my husband home for a long weekend is another happy little bump on this rollercoaster of life.
I have never commented here before, but if I may, watching Pride and Prejudice (the new one) makes me happy! In fact, every night for the last 5 nights, I have been very happy!
I'll send Lizzie over to your house to curl up underneath the covers and make you laugh!
Chocolate. Lots of it :)
Dancing kids crack me up every time.
Feel better soon, it always gets better with time.
I am happy taking a long walk all by myself, shopping for something fun, writing down my feelings, or writing a card or note to someone else. It also helps me to put in a good movie, make a card or bake something too.
Good luck in the next few days!
I, also, was sent by the amazing DYM.
Tickling my (nearly 8mo) twins and hearing them laugh and watching their sweet (mostly) toothless smiles ... that definately makes me happy.
Even after a full (or seemingly full) day of screaming.
Dark chocolate M&Ms (SO glad that those are back!) are also on the list.
New books. There's another great thing.
I hope this helps!!
My new, 11-week-old kittens just discovered the joys of twist ties today. This is making me happy because I'm laughing so hard that it's making me cough.
Also, three-day weekends, fresh warm donuts, fall weather, old classic movies (usually Cary Grant or Fred Astaire) and slapstick comedy.
(yet another emissary of DYM)
DYM sent me!
What's making me really happy right now is the fact that a team of able-bodied guys are outside trimming all of my trees and bushes. I finally broke down and asked for help. Now, instead of that nagging feeling every time I see the bushes (man, I need to trim those...), I will feel happy and elated (damn, those bushes look good!)
Hope things look up soon!
My baby boy makes me happy. I think it's mostly because he needs me, and nobody else can be his mommy...just me. It's also nice that he thinks I'm the coolest thing ever. I'm sure he'll get over that soon, but for now I'm lovin' it!
what makes me happy?? my children's naked bums. is that weird? i don't care.
When I don't think about all the things that needs to be done and just about having fun with family makes me happy. When a stranger does something nice like open a door, or give a smile that warms my heart. Life is a lot less overwhelming you take it one task at a time instead of all the tasks you need to get done that day. Good luck with what you are facing. I hope all these comments have made you feel loved and appreciated.

Watching my husband go ga-ga over his new "Star Wars Lego" video game makes me happy. Playing it with him makes me happy too.
I've got some family storms to weather too. Best wishes and prayers for you.
Listening to my son chortle as he climbs the stairs makes me happy.
I hope things get better on your end real soon. DYM sent me.
Things that make me happy:
When the water comes out hot.
My dishwasher (I didn't have one last year!)
When my teenager loves on me without any hints from me.
My daughter singing in the public restroom and the looks I get from other women.
A clean house
Taco Bell
The Szechuan Inn
Flowers
My family
Music Videos, movies, entertainment web sites.
Oh the list goes on. I'm such a Pollyanna. I hope you are cheered soon and that whatever you are facing becomes a blessing in the end.
My tomato patch is producing so many tomatoes that we can eat all we want and share some too, AND, I get to go to bed in a fairly comfortable bed tonight (and I am tiR-ed), AND I get my soft cast off my foot tomorrow, AND I'm sorry you're having a bad day. Just remember that things change (and get better)...And, I'm thinking how nice it is that "temaura, is unuthe daiy." (You've seen UHF, right?:)) Hope things look up for you and yours soon. Hugs from a DYM reader who knows what it's like to be blue, too. (But isn't now, thankfully)
Going out to dinner with my whole family makes me happy. I have four kids--16,19,21 and 23. Between work hours and school, it's hard for us to coordinate a time we can all be together. So it only happens about 3 times a year. As for more frequent happiness...I love the almost nightly drives my husband and I take, usually to park near the docks in Northport and gaze out at the beautiful water and pretty boats--and talk.
Something that makes me happy is sitting in my front porch swing while the fall, cool breeze blows reading a novel.
You should also try a whirlpool bath. Great times!
Hang in there - and if you need some brothers in arms with your bad luck, go visit my blog - it will show you what I've been through with tornado damage, locksmiths, and more!
Good luck.
(Sent over from DYM)
Baby giggles, big burritos (yes minnehaha mama!), reruns of ER, my washing machine (I know, I'm bizzare), www.postsecret.com, listening to corrine bailey rae, joy denalane, and G-Love, doing nice things for strippers :), seeing how excited my puppies get to see me after I leave for 10 minutes to get the mail, watching old people smile, especially at my baby girl, the weather, and peanut butter cups.
Chin up! Every day has something to help foster hope.
Sleeping in. Not that it happens very often, but oh-the-joy when it does.
I hope that things get better for you. Am wishing you the best.
What makes me happy? Reading a good book, laughing with my husband, and burying my face in my cats' fur after they've been sleeping in the sun for an hour. The pleasure of the last one is more than worth the ocasional feline-allergy flare-ups.
You know what would make me really happy?
If I went to the dr on Wednesday and he told me that my blood pressure was wonderful, and I could be off bed rest, then my children wouldn't think I was the meanest mommy in the whole wide world, cuz "you never ever do anything with us." They exagerate so.
Seriously though, it makes me completely happy when I'm lying in bed and my 2 year old comes in and says, "I wantchu mommy," and when she says that, she doesn't just want to lay by me, she wants my arm under her head and my other arm around her and she just wants to cuddle. :o)
Also sent by DYM.
I enjoy getting to have a little computer time. It's so rare lately. I also enjoy my son's happiness when I actually let him type:
tnikm uhi mtku w uh rkjkrixkxk
(He's 15 months old.)
Mommy (45)(?!):"Sheesh! I HAVE to get some glasses. I can barely see to trim your fingernails, sweetie! :p "
Sophia (5) "Yes, I need some glasses too."
Mommy (always ready to panic): "What? Are you having trouble seeing things?!"
Sophia: No. I'm just not getting any younger, you know."
:)
